What to Avoid when Using Ortho Evra

If you are above 35 years old and you are smoking, you should definitely not use the Ortho Evra birth control patch. It can lead to complications and you will be more likely to get allergic reactions and side effects of the contraception. You should avoid drinking grapefruit juice or consuming grapefruit, whilst using the patch, and avoid using powders, lotions, creams and other medications on the skin, where the patch has been applied.

It is important to remember that the Ortho Evra contraceptive patch will not offer protection against sexually transmitted diseases, like HIV/AIDS.
